Welcome!
It's a New Year! Only a few days into 2012 and it is already full of new resolutions, new and reoccurring hopes, and a continuation of many of the same wishes that we have always had for our family and friends.
Along with the New Year is coming a new blog! Many of you are familiar with 'Lily's Pad', which we ran for over three years through an apple mobile.me account. Despite my love of apple formatting and ease of use, it was getting too expensive to keep going and when our newest trial ran out, so did our blog access. :)
I'm hoping that I will be able to post updates/pics for our family near and far. We are very thankful that we can start off the new year with a big update for our family - later this year, in July, we will hopefully be adding to the family! We have been cautiously optimistic and, now that I have hit the 12 week mark, we are finally starting to breathe. I've also started unbuttoning my pants and have moved into maternity clothes, something that didn't happen until much later with L. I've heard that is pretty common, and if this pregnancy has taught me anything it is that I should expect the unexpected.
One of my favorite concepts in science was homeostasis. The series of sometimes subconscious events that end up creating a symphony of equilibrium was always something that I really enjoyed. I always wished that it wasn't so much work for me to get that equilibrium! I think about things too much, I overcompensate. Individually, and as a family, we have brief moments of homeostasis. Unfortunately, I usually don't know that we had them until we are out of them! :)
So, join us on our journey of trying to keep it together! I think it will only get harder as our family expands, but I think we will find our way. Whether it be from planning or taking a step back to try and find our own family's groove, join us as we go through life 'sustaining homeostasis', or as close as we can get to it.
I wish everyone a very healthy and happy New Year!
Also, a special thanks to Christy Pellicer at Bliss Photography for the photo of L used in the header. :)
